BROWN, Joseph H.

From the Veedersburg News we note the death of Joseph H. Brown, who died at Cayuga Feb. 2, 1902, aged 71 years, 8 months and 1 day. Fifty two years ago he was married to Miss Hester Palmer, just west of Alamo in this county, where he lived until he enlisted as corporal in Co. B, 120th regiment, which was Capt. Elmoreās company. Later on Capt. McClaskey became the captain. After returning from the war he lived in Alamo for several years. Later on he moved to Steam Corner, where he served for several yeas as justice of the peace. Eleven years ago he moved to Cayuga, where he opened a law office and lived till his death.
He was the father of Rev. C. A. Brown, secretary of the Western Indiana Christian (Newlight) Conference, and who lives near Hazelrig, Brown County. The deceased was a Mason and his funeral was conducted by that order. = kbz
