BROTHERS, Merrill - Putnam

Roachdale, Jan 20 – Merrille Owen Brothers, former local resident passed away at the home of his mother, Mrs. Elsie Brothers in Indianapolis Wednesday morning at 10:15 o’clock after a year’s illness with colitis. The deceased was born in Putnam County July 21, 1904, the son of Orville and Elsie Brothers. He was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church. Surviving are the following: His mother, two brothers, Edwin and Jesse of Indianapolis and three sisters, Mrs. Edith Gerlack, Mary and Betty Brothers of Indianapolis. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at one o’clock at the Roachdale Christian Church in charge of the Rev. Samuel Smith. Burial was in the Roachdale cemetery. – kbz
