On April 13, 1865 into the home of Joseph and Elizabeth Ledwell Tadlock came a daughter who was given the name of Martha Ann.  When she was just a small child the parents left their home in North Caroline and came to Indiana.  Martha Ann was one of eight children and fell asleep during the twilight hour on April 20, 1938 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Grantham. She was married to John T. Brothers Aug 18, 1889 he having preceded her in death on the 15th of August 1906 leaving this wife and only daughter, Nona. She also leaves a son-in-law and granddaughter, Florence, two sisters, Mrs. Ferby Stewart of Knightstown and Mrs. Emily Snider of Madison.  Having joined the New Maysville Baptist Church she has remained a faithful member for the past 35 years.  We who knew her intimately have loved and admired her for her cheerful acceptance of what a busy life brought her.  She was a loyal friend and good neighbor, always with a kindly word or deed for all who were with her.  Her busy life took her into many homes where she adapted herself to win the gratitude of those she served.   –--kbz
