Died in
Greencastle Oct 2, 1891, Marion Broadstreet son of Quinton Broadstreet, aged 22
years 1 month 9 days. About three years
ago while attending college Marion took the measles and contracted cold which
settled on his lungs from which he never recovered. After having tried the best
medical skill without any benefit he was advised to try different climes which
he did for nearly two years without any permanent relief, returning home on the
10th day of last April since which time he continued to grow worse
until death came to his relief. He bore all his afflictions without a murmur,
being perfectly resigned to meet death telling his father that he was going to
meet his mother, sister and brothers in heaven. He was the idol of the family,
loved and respected by all who knew him. Marion was an exemplary young man one
whose example all young men would do well to imitate. It seems so hard to see
one in the bloom of youth with such a promising future to be called away never
more to mingle with the loved ones here but death loves a shining mark and God
selects the brightest jewels for his crown. The remains were buried at
Stilesville. - kbz
