Mrs. Hazel Broadstreet, 72 of Rt 1, Crawfordsville died Friday morning in the Small Nursing Home at Waynetown. She had been there since August. A daughter of Thomas E. and Maude Harris Withers, she was born in Putnam County, January 18, 1893. She married Henry Cass Broadstreet at Cloverdale May 4, 1907. They lived there for a time and moved to Wingate in 1922. They lived there seven years at Elgin, Ill and in Linden six years and since 1942 resided in the Crawfordsville area. Mr. Broadstreet who was a farmer, died Dec 11, 1963. Mrs. Broadstreet was a member of the Smartsburg Christian Church, the Pythian Sisters, Rebekah Lodge Home Demonstration Club and Culver Hospital Guild. Survivors include 3 sons, Frank L; Freeman and Bruce O, all of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Colestra Bratton of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Paul Talbot of Indianapolis; two brothers, Paul E. Withers, of Phoenix, Ariz and Frank Withers of Auburn, a half brother, Leroy Stamper of Carmen, and 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren Preceding her in death were a brother and sister. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating and burial in the Masonic Cemetery here.
