BOWERS, William D. - 1918 - Putnam

Russellville, Oct 12 - William D. Bowers, 74 years old, died yesterday morning after a six months illness with a complication of diseases. Mr. Bowers was the son of David and Catharine Bowers who came to Russellville in an early day and settled on the farm where William was born and had spent his entire life of nearly 3/4 of a century.  He was married 20 years ago to Mrs. Mary (Roach) Sutherlin who survives him with two step children, Ora Sutherlin of Marion, Ind and Mrs. Fred Spencer of Russellville. George W. Bowers of this city a brother and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hargrave of Richmond, Kansas also survive being the last of the family of 7 children. Mr. Bowers was a man highly respected in his community. The funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment at Mt. Hebron cemetery - kbz
