Roy E. Blue, 71, of Roachdale died in his home Friday. He was retired from General Motors in 1966 and had taught at Barnard 9 years. He was a member of the Roachdale Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. Born at Bell Union on May 10, 1904, he was a son of Lemuel and Dovie Akins Blue. He was married to Mary Shields who survives. Also surviving are a son, Maj. William Edward Blue of Grissom AFB, five sisters Mrs. Ruth Hammond of Greencastle; Lucille Hutchinson of Washington; Mrs. Julia Denune of Concord, Calif; Mrs. Vivian Hough of Bainbridge and Mrs. Rose Buis of Greencastle; four brothers, Cleon of Gwynnville; William and Paul of Greencastle and Jewel of Bainbridge; and two granddaughters, Barbara Anna and Elizabeth Anna of Peru. Services will be at 2 pm. Monday in Perkins Funeral Home wtih Rev. Leo Schmidt and Rev. Clarence Barr officiating. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday. Masonic services will be 7 p.m. Sunday.
