Janice A. Blue, 89 of Columbus, formerly of Bainbridge, died Sunday April 27, 2003 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Blue was a graduate of Bainbridge HS and worked as a secretary at Bainbridge Grain Co for several years. She and her husband also owned and operated several motels and restaurants in Indiana and Florida retiring in 1973. She was a member and past worthy matron of Bainbridge Order of Eastern Star and member of DAR in Bainbridge, Bainbridge United Methodist Church and Butler University Sigma Chi Mother’s Club. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle with Rev. Verl Winslow officiating. Calling will be from 4-8 pm. Today. Burial will be at Bainbridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bainbridge United Methodist Church, 302 Main St, Bainbridge, 46105. Mrs. Blue was born in Bainbridge Oct 25, 1913 the daughter of Fred and Muriel Hainey Nelson. She married Jewell Wayne Blue June 10, 1939. Survivors include sons, Mikell G. Blue of Winston Salem, NC and Jeffrey Blue of Columbus; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 27, 1998 and sisters, Madonna Harlan; Pamela Jean Nelson and Lois Nelson. – kbz

She married Jewell Wayne Blue on June 10, 1939. Services will be at 11 a.m. April 30 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle with calling from 4-8 p.m. April 29. Burial: Bainbridge Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 3 sisters, Madonna Harland; Pamela Jean and Lois Nelson.
