BLAYDES, Emma Dickerson

Blaydes, Emma Susan Dickerson, was born 26 August 1867 in Montgomery County, near Ladoga. She was the eldest daughter of Floyd and Elizabeth Pennington Dickerson. Mrs. Blaydes died 15 November 1944. Her mother died when she was quite young. She helped care for her brothers and sisters. She had spent her life in Montgomery and Putnam County, with the exception of a few years in Lagrange, Kentucky. Her first marriage was to Benjamin Walls, who died in 1920. She married E. Porter Blaydes 2 October 1926. She is survived by the husband, a sister Mrs. Dan Shackleford; two brothers William Dickerson of Roachdale, James Dickerson of Fort Worth, Texas; two step daughters, Mrs. J. E. Drane of Eminence, Kentucky and Pauline Crosby of Louisville, Kentucky, one stepson Cecil Blaydes of Fortville.

Blaydes, Emma, wife of Porter E. Blaydes, died Wednesday morning at her home after suffering a paralytical stroke Tuesday. She lived all her life in this section. Funeral to be held Saturday at the Chastain Funeral Home, with burial at Roachdale Cemetery.
