BLACK, Margaret Whitsett - Putnam

Died – Black – on the 1st inst, after a lingering and painful illness, Mrs. Margaret, wife of Miller Black of this city.  Mrs. Black, whose maiden name was Margaret Whitsitt was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky Dec 10, 1812 and was married on the 17th of March 1831 to Miller Black, who survives her.  Besides her husband, she leaves five children, who mourn their irreparable loss.  In company with her husband and family, she moved to this vicinity in April 1852 and has resided here ever since. Her kind and Christian deportment won for her the esteem of all who knew her. The affectionate regard in which she was held by her acquaintances was abundantly testified by their offices of kindness to promote her comfort during her long and painful illness. -kbz
