BISHOP, John V. - Putnam

John V. Bishop living near Portland Mills dropped dead Saturday of heart disease.  He was about 66 years of age and had served over 4 years in the 21st Indiana regiment during the late war and was buried by the GAR post of Portland Mills with the honors of war.  He was born and lived all his life near Portland Mills.  His death was sudden and painless.  --– kbz
