Edna Bicknell, former Greencastle young woman was drowned while swimming at a beach near San Diego, California, some time Sunday according to word received here today. No particulars of the fatal accident were learned here. Miss Bicknell is the daughter of Mrs. Emily P. Bicknell of San Diego. The Bicknells moved to California from Greencastle about four years ago. Edward Bicknell, the father of the dead girl died here several years ago. He was in the hardware business in Greencastle for a number of years. Other survivors are two sisters, Miss Louise Bicknell of San Diego and Mrs. JD Sturges of Chilcoco, Oklahoma. The deceased was a niece of Mrs. John Dunlavy and WB Peck, both of Greencastle. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but the body will be brought to Greencastle for burial in Forest Hill Cemetery it was learned here today. Mrs. Edward Bicknell and Miss Louise Bicknell of San Diego, Cal will arrive here Friday accompanying the body of Miss Edna Bicknell who was drowned on a beach there Sunday. They will arrive at 1:23 Sunday. They will arrive at 1:23 o’clock in the afternoon on the Big Four railroad. Mrs. JD Sturgis of Chicoco, Oklahoma will arrive here Wednesday and funeral arrangements will be made after her arrival.
