Mrs. Devota M. Berry, 62, wife of Morris Berry of Berry Construction Co. of Crawfordsville died in Culver Hospital Feb. 14, after an extended illness. She was born, Jan. 4, 1909, in Putnam county, the daughter of George W. and Mary Grimes Potter. She graduated from Russellville High School. She was first married, to Neal McClain. She was married to Mr. Berry, March 29, 1943. Survivors in addition to the husband are three children, Lyle McClain, Mrs. Sharon McClain, Francis and Mrs. Penny Berry Sterling, all of Crawfordsville; 13 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Archie Spencer of Russellville and Mrs. Ed Maddox of Greencastle. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Jump of the Trinity Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Crawfordsville.

Mrs. Devota M. Berry, 62, a native of Putnam County died Sunday evening in the Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was the wife of Morris Berry of the Berry Construction Company.

The deceased was born on January 4, 1909 in Putnam County the daughter of George W. and Marry Grimes Potter.

Mrs. Berry was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Crawfordsville, the Business and Professional Women, Circle Three of the WSCS and a graduate of the Russellville High School.

Survivors include the husband; two daughters, Sharon Francis and Penny Sterling, a son, Lyle McClain, all of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Archie Spencer, Russellville, Mrs. Ed Mattox, Greencastle, and 13 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with Rev. Paul Jump officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
