BENNETT, Irvine (Dan) - Putnam

Services were held Monday for Irvine (Dan) Bennett, Coatesville, who passed away Saturday morning at Putnam County Hospital.

Born Sept. 6, 1914 in Hendricks County, he was the son of James and Opal (Bartholomew) Bennett. A graduate of Amo High School in 1936, he was married to Jean Eastham in Coatesville in 1952.

A lifetime resident of Coatesville, the deceased was Coatesville postmaster for four years, and a clerk and rural carrier foe 33 years, past master of the Coatesville Masonic Lodge, a patron of the Coatesville Eastern Star and a member if the Indiana branch of the National League of Postmasters.

Survivors include his wife Jean; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Colleen Smitherman, West Lafayette; a stepson, Myron G Havin, Westminster, Calf. ; his stepfather, Arthur Ticher, Coatesville; foster parents, Mr. And Mrs. Paul Herod; two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Nichols, Fillmore, and Mrs. Edna Masten, Coatesville, and five grandchildren.

Rev. Richard Hobbs and Rev. Wayne Kivett officiated at the funeral service, with burial in the Coatesville Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Wingler Funeral Hone, Coatesville.
