BENCE, Mary Hutcheson Avritt - Putnam

Mary Laura Hutcheson, daughter of Payton and Keziah Hutcheson was born in Putnam County August 17, 1853. She died on August 17, 1929 her 76th birthday. She died on the same farm where she was born.  April 3, 1878 she married George Avritt of Putnam County.  He passed away May 3, 1879.  To this union one son, Ernest was born. March 10, 1898 she was married to James P. Bence of Putnam County.  About 15 years ago, she joined the Christian Church and so long as her health permitted was a regular attendant.  When she could no longer attend church she read her Sunday school lesson each week.  She is survived by two brothers, William and Joseph Hutcheson, one sister, Mrs. Sarah Sutton, the husband, James P. Bence and one son, Ernest Avritt.
