Source: Greencastle Daily Banner 19 April 1941 p 4

Thomas Bell was born in Clay Co Dec 16, 1858 and passed away at the home of his son Oscar Bell April 9th, 1941.  He was the four child of Isaac and Curlinda Stalcup Bell. He was united in marriage June 19, 1897 to Mary Ellen Rightsel and to this union were born two sons: Oscar D. and Otis Franklin both of Greencastle.  Mr. Bell leaves to mourn his going the wife who is very frail and the two sons and two daughters-in-laws and two step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends for to know Mr. Bell meant to love him.  He was a faithful father and good husband.  He loved his home and found great pleasure in helping everyone he could.  Everything possible was done by the family during his illness for it’s a help and comfort, this we are sure was appreciated by him for he was so patient and gentle.  And if he could speak to us he would day “Weep not for me Dear ones to go away means Peace and rest.  –--kbz
