BEALS, Ellen - Putnam

Death has again invaded the family of Mrs. Eliza Beals on Seminary Street, Miss Ellen Beals departing this life last night a few minutes before midnight. She had been ill several weeks with erysipelas which finally culminated fatally. Miss Beals was a member of DePauw University and the Theta fraternity (sic). Her age was 21 years and she was a young lady of many noble traits of character. Miss Beals was a sister of the late Professor HL Beals, deceased. The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at Locust Street Church, Dr. Poucher and Rev. Bryan conducting the services.
