Paul R. Batman, 52, of 523 Indianapolis Ave was pronounced dead on arrival at Witham Memorial Hospital Saturday morning. The car he was driving struck a telephone pole on East Elm Street in Lebanon. An autopsy was ordered when it was not evident whether the impact of the crash caused his death or whether he might have suffered a heart seizure. The results of the autopsy are not yet known. He was born May 1, 1917 in the Roachdale area to Ward and Frances Bartlett Batman. Mr. Batman came to Boone County withthe Panhandle Eastern Company but for the past two years had been employed as parts runner and general worker for the Gene Lewis Ford Co. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Nevo Grimes of Russellville, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Perkins Funeral Home in Roachdale. Rev. Ray Britton will officiate. Burial in Roachdale Cemetery.
