Roachdale -- Herman Ward BASTIAN 79 a former resident of Crawfordsville died Friday in Veterans Hospital, Logansport. He had been a patient there 48 years. Mr. Bastian was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville. He was born Oct 30, 1894 at Crawfordsville, son of George Bastian and Katherine Rheims Bastian. He was married to Martha Miller June 1921. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lillie Parks a grandson Terry a granddaughter, Mrs. Sharyn Bowen and a sister, Mrs. Nina McCauley. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Perkins Funeral Home, Roachdale burial in Roachdale Cemetery. - kbz
