ROACHDALE – Grover Cleveland Barker, 83-year-old retired farmer and life resident of this community, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Ruark Nursing Home at Fillmore. A son of David and Charlotte Barker, he was born near here May 4, 1885. He was married to Bessie Helen Bymaster in Putnam County April 24, 1906. She preceded him in death. Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Lola Plunkett of Danville, Ind., Loyd of Brownsburg, Lawrence of North Salem, Wain of Cloverdale, Ralph of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Edna Long of Ladoga, Kenneth of Indianapolis and Carl of Fillmore. Three daughters, Lorna Servies, Leatha and Freda, and a son, Benjamin, are deceased. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Perkins Funeral Home, Rev. Ray Britton officiating, with burial in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today. – jlr
