Clara Mildred Austin, 85, Bainbridge, mother of Muncie resident Janet Parker (husband, Lanny) died Thursday in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis. Mrs. Austin was born in Pleasant Site, Ala. She worked for LS Ayres & Co. in Indianapolis for 20 years. She was a member of Bainbridge United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 440.  Survivors in addition to her daughter include a son, Bill Austin (wife: Sharon), Bainbridge; a brother, Walter Huffman (wife: Garnet), Bainbridge; a sister, Kathleen Mee, Sarasota, Fla; a grandson, Brian Parker, Indianapolis; four granddaughters, Cindy Meyer (husband, Curt), Westfield; Lori Jones (husband: Phil), Indianapolis; Dianna Sweeney (husband (Jeff), Indianapolis and Kathy Austin, Seattle, Wash; a great granddaughter, two nieces and a nephew. A sister, Fanny Huffman and infant grandson are deceased. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Hopkins Rector Funeral Home with Rev. John McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Bainbridge Cemetery. – kbz
