Roachdale - Mrs. Livia Miller Ashby, 90, an author who was born near Roachdale died Fridayi n a Washington DC hospital. Mrs. Ashby wrote several books and poetry include Sun Rhythm; Dominion; Find Thread of Spring Snow Flowers and Mr. Pleasure. She was a 1906 graduate of Roachdale HS; a 1910 graduate of DePauw and received a degree from Louisville KY. She was a member of Roachdale Presbyterian Church, Roachdale OES, Crawfordsville DAR, Roachdale Philomath Club and Indiana Federation of Poetry. She was born near Roachdale July 24, 1888, a daughter of Alex and Polly Miller. She married Howard Ashby Sept 10, 1912. Mrs. Ashby was an associate professor at Wabash College and later a farmer. Surviving is a daughter, Helen Elizabeth Ashby of Washington and Roachdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter and a son, Winston. The funeral will be at 2 p.m Monday in Perkins Funeral Home here here. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
