Indianapolis, April 27 – Francis A. Arnold, for many years editor and proprietor of the Greencastle Democrat and active in business circles in this city died at 4:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Hospital. He was 72 years old. Death was due to uremic poisoning and followed an illness of about two weeks. The funeral probably will be held at Mr. Arnold’s late residence in Greencastle Sunday afternoon. In addition to his newspaper interest Mr. Aarnold was Vice President of the Central National Bank at Greencastle, Vic President of the Central Trust Company at Greencastle and a member of the board of directors of the City Trust Company of Indianapolis. He retired from active work 10 years ago. He is survived by the widow; by four daughters: Mrs. JL Scripps of Rushville, Ill; Mrs. AB Lockridge of Danville, Ill; Mrs. FC Tilden of Greencastle and Mrs. Joseph Adams of Stuttgart, Ark and by one son, Charles J. Arnold of Greencastle. The son is the present editor of the Democrat. – kbz
