Mrs. Elizabeth Ellen Silvey Allen passed away at the home of her son, Henry Allen near Roachdale at 2:30 o’clock Friday morning following an illness of six weeks.  Mrs. Allen was born and spent most of her life in and near Roachdale. She was the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Owens Silvy. She was married to Lilburn Allen in May 1869.  Besides the son Henry with whom she made her home, Mrs. Allen is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frank Dean of Roachdale; one grandson, three granddaughters, one step grandson; 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  The funeral services will be held from the Chastain Funeral Home in Roachdale Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock with burial in the Linden Cemetery where the family lived for 17 years.  Friends may pay their respect to her at the Allen home after5 o’clock Friday evening.
