ALLEN, Charles Thomas - Putnam

Charles Thomas Allen, 65, died at his home near here Sunday morning of a heart ailment. He was born in Montgomery County, January 12, 1872, the son of William M. and Myrinda Allen. On December 24, 1896, he married Effie McFerran, who survives. In addition to the widow, are three sons; Merle and Clyde at home, Glenn of Gary, three daughters; Helen, at home, Mrs. William Reed of Indianapolis, Mrs. James Gilliland of Crawfordsville; stepmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Allen of Crawfordsville and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the home, with burial in Roachdale cemetery.

Charley T. Allen was born in Montgomery Co., Indiana January 12, 1872 and died February 7, 1937 at the age of 65 years and 26 days. He was one of a a family of two children of William and Miranda Allen. His mother, father, and a brother Corbin, preceded him in death. On December 24, 1896, he married Effie McFerran. To this union six children; Merle, Clyde, Glen, Ruby, Pearl and Helen. All survive along with the wife, one half sister, Mrs. Della Lane and a grandchild Dona Lee Gilliland also survive. Also his stepmother, Mrs. Eliza Allen. --
