ROACHDALE – Funeral services for C. H. Aliff, 72, who died Saturday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Perkins Funeral Home here with interment in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary. He was a member of the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge F&AM 602 here. From 1933 until 1943 he operated a trucking line. He was born March 7, 1895, in Virginia. On Nov. 8, 1922, he was married to Frances Stewart in Illinois. Surviving are a son, Hampton of Rt. 2, Ladoga; a brother, Andy of Southport; a sister, Mrs. Della Holiday of Plainfield and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1965. --– jlr

Ellen Stewart 1875-1943 Son Hampton mentioned above is also on the stone listed as Hampton Jr. 1925 - so imagine it is Colonel Hampton Aliff. Interesting man ! kbz
