AKINS, Sarah York - Putnam

Monticello, Jan 10 – Mrs. Sarah Akins died at her home Monday morning of lung trouble. She was born Nov 18, 1860 near Carbon, Ind and was married to Monroe S. Akins who died several years ago.  Mrs. Akins and four children came to Monticello to make their home. She is survived by her two daughters, Misses Lola and Mabel at home, James Akins of Michigan and William Akins of Terre Haute.  Miss Mabel is an invalid and has been quite sick since her mother’s death. The funeral was held at the residence Thursday morning at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev. Paul Gilbert.
