Danville Ind Feb 21 – John W. Aders, age 62, farmer and stockman, died at his home here Friday afternoon after an illness of almost two years. Mr. Ader was born on a farm in Putnam County near Groveland. When a young man he operated a general store at Groveland, but disposed of it to devote all his time to buying and selling horses and cattle. Through these operations he became widely known over the state in connection with his dealings in live stock he owned and operated large farms in Putnam and Hendricks Counties. Mr. Ader moved to Danville in 1893 and became one of the directors of the First National Bank here. In 1908 he was elected sheriff of Hendricks County being the first Democrat to win an elective office in the county. He was reelected to the office in 1910. He was a member of the Groveland Masonic Lodge and belonged to the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a son, Dr. Jacob Ader of Hobart and three daughters, Miss Tressie Ader of Hobart and Mrs. Fred Stewart and Miss Shirley Ader of Danville. Funeral services will be held at the home at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Interment will be at Groveland. - kbz
