ADAIR, James - Putnam

A man by the name of James Adair, was found dead in his room at Carpentersville on Tuesday of last week.  Marks of ill treatment were found about his head and neck.  A man by the name of Brooks was arrested as the murderer but the evidence against him was not sufficient to warrant his commitment. The wife of Adair has been arrested as the murderer.  - kbz
