There is now living near Ladoga in the southern part of Montgomery County, perhaps the oldest person in the State. His name is Frederick Porch and he was born in the year 1771 and is consequently now 104 years of age. The strangest thing about it is, that he voted for George Washington for the second term and says he has voted the straight Democratic ticket ever since. “God moves in a mysterious way.”
