WAS BRUTALLY ATTACKED
R. A. Patterson Not Hurt by Falling as Supposed –
Assailant Unknown.
R. A. Patterson, circulation manager of the Crawfordsville Journal, who was injured Tuesday afternoon on South Fifth street, near the public library, and taken to St. Elizabeth hospital, where he remained until yesterday, was not hurt by falling on the sidewalk as was first reported. It is stated that he was assaulted by some person who thought Patterson was somebody else. Patterson’s head was badly bruised, but he is recovering. He was standing at the corner talking to a friend when a man approached from behind and attacked him. His assailant escaped and has not been identified.
