Source: Greencastle Banner Nov 4, 1880 p 5
A sad accident occurred Saturday at the North Depot. As William Nash, fireman on the I&St L was cleansing his engine, a plug flew out and the steam escaping scalded him in a fearful manner. He was taken to the Central House where he was properly cared for and his wounds dressed by Dr. Preston. His face, breast and arms were the parts mostly affected. He is not considered in great danger but suffers intensely.
