On the evening of September 6th a large number of relatives and friends assembled at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Wysong to witness the nuptials of L. E. Smedley and Mattie Wysong. The house was brilliantly lighted, and at a few minutes before 8 o'clock the guests assembled in the parlor. Mr. Max. Kahn and Miss Kate Elliott, entered the room followed by Mr. Will Farrow and Miss Ella Reeves; then came Mr. Smedley and Miss Wysong.  Dr. Marine then proceeded in a graceful and dignified manner to join, by the authority vested in him, the groom and bride in the bonds of matrimony. The responses were calm, clear and distinct. Then followed a short prayer, after which the bridal party quietly adjourned to the dining room where a rich and bounteous repast was spread.    Mr. Smedley was dressed in the conventional black.  The bride was attired in a changeable silk, blue and gold, heavily trimmed in white Spanish lace, narrow ruffles and masses of shirring made a very effective costume. The veil of white Tulle, festooned at the side of the hair with orange blossoms. The bridesmaids wore white dotted swiss with lace and satin. The company broke up towards midnight, each guest departing with kind wishes. We can only say – No more, no more, much honor aye betide the lofty bridegroom and the lovely bride, that all of their succeeding day may say .. Each day appears like to a wedding day.  The couple received a large number of valuable presents.  Mr. and Mrs. Smedley were tendered a reception by Mr. and Mrs. WA Howe on Wednesday evening.
