Martinsville Republican - Alpha M. Shackelford, of Putnam County, 23 years old, and Clara B. Rodgers, of Eminence, 22, were married Saturday by Squire Baldwin. The question was asked by the squire. "Hadn't you

better have witnesses?"

"No," was the groom's reply, "We don't want any witnesses." It is thought possible that an elopement preceded the marriage.
