The marriage of Miss Margaret Pearson and Mr. Leland Sage took place Monday evening at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pearson in Bedford. The vows were read by the bridegroom’s father Rev. J. A. Sage, pastor of the Methodist church at Pine Bluff, Ark. While the guests were gathering Miss Anna Webb, violinist accompanied by Mrs. J. M. Winstanley at the piano played nuptial airs. Miss Helen Keith sang “Dreams” and “I Love Thee.” The Lohengrin wedding march was played for the processional. H.D. Trimble of Urbana, III., was best man and Miss Lucy Beddoe was the bride’s only attendant. She wore a dress of pale green silk crepe fashioned princess style and carried briarcliff roses. The bride was given in marriage by her father and was gowned in a sleeveless ivory satin dress. Her tulle veil arranged cap fashion with a cluster of orange blossoms on each side. It reached to the hemline of her gown. Her only ornament was a pearl and rhinestone necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. She carried a shower bouquet of Johaini Hill roses and valley lilies tied with an ivory lace scarf. A reception followed the ceremony then the couple left on a trip East. The bride traveled in a brown ensemble with harmonizing accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Sage will reside at the home of George Landes on East Washington Street after January 10. – kbz
