The marriage of Mr. Benjamin E. Rowe and Miss Lydia Mae Gifford occurred Wednesday at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs. Jane Gifford, corner Poplar & Locust Streets. The parlors of the residence were handsomely decorated with palms and begonias. The ceremony was pronounced by Dr. HA Gobin in his usual impressive manner. The bride was attired in white organdie, over cream silk caryring a cluster of Marchal Neil roses tied with brides' ribbon. Miss Perle Hillis was the only attendant. The groom graduated from DePauw last year and was a prominent member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Mr. Rowe is at present principal of the New Middleton Ind schools. The bride is one of Greencastle's best known young ladies, who has a host of friends to extend congratulations. Only intimate friends and relatives were present. Among the presents was a handsome brass lamp and onyx table given by the members of the DU Fraternity. Mr. and Mrs. Rowe left at 1:35 on the Vandalia for New Middleton where they will take rooms for the present. --- kbz
