On Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, at
the home of the bride’s parents, 9 miles north of town occurred the marriage of
Miss Minnie Nelson to Mr. Charles E. Cooper, the Rev. MJ Claypool of Lafayette
performing the ceremony. Only the
immediate members of the families were present. The house was very handsomely
decorated with cut flowers, potted plants, golden rod and autumn leaves. In the
parlor were American Beauty roses while in the corner where stood the bride and
groom was an embankment of autumn leaves and heavy foliage plants. In the dining room, the color scheme was
white and green, white carnations alone being used upon the table. The bride
wore an elegant travelling dress of blue brocade, trimmed in Persian silk. The wedding march and music during the
ceremony was played by Miss Kate Miller. After the ceremony an elaborate
breakfast was served, the bride and groom leaving immediately for Chicago where
they will spend the honeymoon and visit Mrs. Cooper’s brother, Mr. Sam G.
Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper will be at home to their many friends in their new
home on North Jackson street after the 1st of November. - transcribed by kbz
