Haymond, Thos - Grace BURK 1892

Source: Greencastle Star Press, 9 April 1892 p 7
A very quiet, though unexpected, wedding took place on East Washington Street, Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Mr. Thomas Haymond and Miss Grace Burk were married at the home of the bride, the Rev. Dr. Town officiating. Both were DePauw students, the groom being the poet of the class of 87 and graduating that year while the bride was a member of the class of 93. Mr. Haymond was formerly of Shelbyville and is a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He is a promising young lawyer and the junior member of the firm of Mantz & Haymond of Terre Haute. The bride is the daughter of WH Burk and we need not mention her character and accomplishments as she is universally known here.  They left on the evening train for their future home in the Prairie City. Among the attendants at the wedding were Miss Stella Harriet of Indianapolis Miss Grace Haymond of Shelbyville, a sister of the groom; Judge Taylor and Lawyer Mantz of Terre Haute. -- kbz
