Ewan-Earl to Annette Loveless 6-2-1928 - Putnam

The marriage of Mrs. Annette McGowan Loveless, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theron Woolson McGowan of Watertown NY and Mr. Earl O. Ewan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Ewan of Greencastle, Ind was solemnized 11 o’clock Sat morning June 2 in the Central Congregational Church, Brooklyn NY by the pastor, the Rev. Dr. S. Parkes Cadman, President of the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America. The witnesses were Miss Marian Shipley, a member of the staff of the Spur and a friend of the bride, and Mr. John Pecy Allee and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Allee of Greencastle who is associated with the law firm of Everett, Clarke & Benedict in NY City. The bride and groom sailed immediately after the ceremony for a honeymoon in Virginia. Mr. Ewan is a member of the staff of the NY Times.  He attributes his entry into the newspaper profession to an incident in his early friendship with Mr. John Allee.  Mr. Ewan is a graduate of Greencastle HS and DePauw University and studied at Columbia University at NY City. He was employed on the staff of a newspaper in San Francisco and in Hawaii before going to NY City. – kbz
