BUIS, Charles - Lou BOWMAN - 1-1-1893 - Putnam

“Orange Blossom” news – Married Jan 1, 1893 (sic) at the residence of the bride’s parents near Fillmore, Mr. Charles Buis and Miss Lou Bowman, Elder Skelton of Reelsville pronouncing the ceremony.  A large company of invited guests were present to witness the ceremony.  A bountiful marriage supper was spread. The bride received many very elegant presents. Mr. and Mrs. Buis, accompanied by their uncle, WI Buis took the two o’clock train for Tazewell, Tenn where they will visit relatives and on their return will visit Cincinnati. Mr. Buis purchased the farm just west of his father’s where they will make their future home.  They have the congratulations and good wishes of a host of friends who wish them a long and prosperous life.
