Browning, Standfield-Bettie Hillis - 24 Dec 1894 - Putnam

Mr. Stanfield P. Browning and Miss Bettie E. Hillis were united in marriage on Monday at 4 o’clock p.m. at the residence of the latter’s father George B. Hillis, two and a half miles north of the city, Rev. Graham of Mt. Pleasant church, pronouncing the ceremony. Relatives and friends were present in quite a number to congratulate the contracting parties. A wedding feast was enjoyed by all. Mr. John Hillis, who has been attending “Hillis” weddings right regularly the past few days, played the wedding march.  Mr. and Mrs. Browning left at 6:20 p.m. for a short visit in Indianapolis, after which they will be at home to their friends at the residence of Mr. Browning, three miles east of the city.
