Over 100
guests attended the double wedding at the residence of Mrs. Margaret Beck,
mother of the brides on last Tuesday morning.
Rev. Samuel Beck of South Bend pronounced the ceremony which united in
marriage John F. Cross and Addie S. Beck and Harry L. Maxwell and Grace E.
Beck. The parlors were handsomely garnished with cut flowers, etc. After the
ceremony congratulations were tendered to the brides and grooms and a sumptuous
feast was spread. Mr. and Mrs. Cross left for Lebanon, Ind on the noon train
where they will visit relatives and Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell left for
Crawfordsville where they will visit relatives and proceed to their home at
Milwaukee. The brides received a large
number of elegant presents. Mr. Cross is one of our popular young business men,
Mr. Maxwell is a sweet singer engaged in revival work and the brides are two of
Greencastle’s bright, charming and intelligent young ladies. They start out on
the sea of matrimony with the good wishes of friends.
