The wedding of Miss Nellie E. Turner and Mr. John M. Cassell yesterday afternoon was an important event in local society circles. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. AO White and was one of Greencastle’s most attractive young ladies.  She had many friends in the city and among the students of the university having herself been a student of the Music and Art School.  The groom graduated from DePauw in 1887.  At that time he lived at Vincennes but has recently gone into business at Anderson. The ceremony occurred at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. AO White on East Washington Street at 3 p.m. and was witness by a large number of friends.  Miss Marie Nutt was bridesmaid and Mr. Edward Stucky of Gosport groomsman.  The bride was attired in a dress of beautiful white crepe de cheine, voice of trimmings.  As the happy couple stood before the officiating clergyman to receive the word which would proclaim them man and wife, it was observed by many present that a handsome bride and groom are seldom seen.  The ceremony was impressively performed by Rev. Dr. Parkhurst. At the piano Prof. Howe played a wedding march as the wedding procession entered and left the room.  Subsequent to the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Cassell received the congratulations and good wishes of the guests and with them enjoyed a wedding dinner of great excellence.  A large number of beautiful presents testified the esteem in which the young people were held by their friends.  At 5 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Cassell left for Indianapolis, whence they go today to Anderson their future home. – kbz
