Troubles of widely differing kinds have come to two Putnam County business firms.

At Roachdale, the office of the Times-News has been invaded by termites who have carried on their activities under cover so effectively that the owners of the shop will have to take up all of the floor and lay a concerete floor. This work has been started but the newspaper announces this week that next week's issue will have to be cancelled to permit the work to be done.

At Fillmore, the Hunter Brothers store has a peculiar worry it is reported.  Water has collected in the basement of the store, following the recent heavy rains and on the surface of that water there is floating a scum of gasoline so thick that one energetic person skimmed off enough to operate his automobile.  It seeps in from some nearby buried gasoline tank, it is supposed, but two such tanks have been exhumed and found not leadking - Greencastle Banner.
