Although the weather was cold and disagreeable many people were in town today to attend the first day of the Hurst Buggy Company’s Opening.  Representatives from several of the buggy companies which sell to the Hurst Buggy Company were here to assist the local men in making the day and event a success.  One of the features of the opening is the giving away of prizes. Every person who registers at the office is given a number. Late in the afternoon a drawing takes place and the holders of the lucky numbers are given prizes. The prizes given away today were: one set of buggy harness, one storm front, one plush robe, one horse blanket, one buggy whip.  Tomorrow, which will be the big day of the opening, a rubber tired buggy will be one of the things to be given away. Tomorrow’s lists of gifts are: One Union City RT Top Buggy, one buggy pole, one plush robe, one storm front, one open buggy bridle, one buggy whip. Up to the time of going to press by the Herald 1500 had registered for the drawing. The winners of the prizes were Shelby Moler, harness; John Jacobs, storm front; James Dunnington, plush robe; Frank Shuey, horse blanket; Mrs. Bowers, whip.
