Duckworth & Hubbard desire to express their grateful thanks to their numerous customers for their liberal patronage heretofore extended and anxious to be more extensively known take the liberty of calling the special attention of all those wishing enumerated is the following named items:

Groceries - Rio and Java Coffee, New Orleans Sugar, Havana, crushed and pulverized Sugar, New Orleans and Plantation Molasses, Black Pepper in the grain and ground, Gilder Vinegar, All spice in the grain and ground, Cloves in the grain and ground, Cinnaman in the bark and ground. Nutmegs, Mace, Giner, Rice, Cider, Venegar (sic); Soda, Saleratus, Golden Syrup and Sugar-house Molasses, Young Hyson, Imperial and Black Teas, Tomato Catsup, Pepper Sauce, Tallow and Star Candies, Cheese, BedCords and Plough Lines.

Fish - White Fish, Mackerel and Cod Fish

Wooden and Willow Ware -  Tubs, Churns, Keelers, Travs, Bowls, Buckets, Brooms, Meal Sieves, Market Baskets, School Baskets, Work Baskets, Clothes Baskets, Reticules, agons, Cradles, etc.

Confectionaries - Fruits of all kinds - fresh and preserved.  Almonds, Cream Nuts, Pecans and English Walnuts.  The best of Candies and a good assortment always on hand and more coming - Raisins, Figs, etc.

Bread, Pies, Crackers and Cakes of all description, baked to order on the shortest notice and a good assortment of each kept constantly on hand.

A number one article of all kinds of cigars, Half Spanish, Cubans, Principoes Coloradoes

Tobacco - Fine Plug,  Virginia Leaf, Elderado Fig Leaf, etc and a very large amount of other articles to (sic) tedious too (sic) mention.

Notions - a general variety - blacking, etc.  Kept constantly on hand and for sale at the lower cash prices. July 23, 1856 (when the ad began so this was a long runner)
