On Monday Feb 27th the consolidation of the First National Bank and Citizens National Bank was officially completed. The First National Bank which was established in 1863 and under which name the consolidated institution will  operate was chartered among the first 300 National Banks in the US its charter number 219.  The Citizens National Bank was established in 1913 with James B. Nelson now of Indianapolis as president and Curt K. Hughes as Cashier. The CNB has had a phenomenal growth and with its affiliated institution, the Citizens Trust Company soon became recognized as one of the strongest and most influential banks in this section.  The consolidation will in no way disturb the present building or location of either institutions. Business will be handled by the same people in the same places.  The Citizens Trust Company will occupy the Citizens national rooms and the commercial banking will be transacted as heretofore in the Citizens Trust Company and First National Banking rooms.  The CTC will continue to operate in the quarters now occupied in the Citizens banking room.  The Citizens room which is now connected by a big doorway with the First National room will also be used as a farmers headquarters room.  Arrangements have been made to receive the love-stock and grain markets each day by telegraph and place them upon a big black board for the information of farmers. Also a big exchange board is to be put upon the wall where the farmers can advertise for sale or purchase.
