Putnam County’s new coroner, Dr. C. T. Zaring, who took office Wednesday is as well qualified to hold the office as any man possibly could be. He is a man of high moral standards and a man whose education and ability in his chosen profession are most proficient. In selecting Dr. Zaring to fill the vacancy on the Democratic ticket, caused by the death of Edmund R. Lynch the regularly nominated candidate, the Democratic Central Committee made a good choice.

Dr. Zaring was born in Washington Township, Putnam County and was educated in the schools in that vicinity. Later he went to Indianapolis to study medicine, graduating from the medical college in that city. He then returned to Putnam County, locating at Reelsville. Leaving that town a short time later Dr. Zaring practiced medicine in Evansville and Richmond, finally locating in Greencastle in 1898. Here he now has a large and lucrative practice. – kbz
