WILSON, James B. P. O. Russellville, Farmer, Sec 10; born July 25, 1805 in Fleming Co KY; son of John Wilson born in PA and nancy Boyd-Wilson born in Ky; settled in this county 1825, Sec 8 Russell Twp was married Aug 28, 1828 to Susan, daughter of Frederick & Barbara Byerly, natives of Randolph Co NC; has had 8 children - Nancy Ann (deceased); Margaret Jane; Elizabeth A (deceased); William H, George W, Amanda E, Cintilda and Mary. Mr. Wilson's father was one of the pioneers of this county coming in 1825 when all was wild and uncultivated. He was married twice; first in Lewis Co KY to Nancy Boyd by whom he had 7 childrenof whom James B. was the oldest; she died in Fleming Co Ky; again to Abigail Snedagar yet living who bore him 10 children. Mr. James B. Wilson has held, in this county, the honorable positions of Justice of the Peace and County Commissioner - the former, 31 years; the latter, 10 years. Two of his sons served in the army, William H 100 days and George W. 9 months He is one of the few early settlers left and has helped to make this county what it is. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity.
