Liquor Notice – Notice is hereby given to the citizens of
the city of Muncie in Center township Delaware County, Indiana also to the
citizens of the 8th ward in said city, also to the citizens of said
township, county and state, and to all persons whom it may or might concern,
that I, Joseph Wedlake, a citizen of the US, born in Greencastle, Indiana on
the 16th day of December, 1870 and a male inhabitant over the age of
21 towit: 45 years of age, a resident of and a qualified voter in and of said
city, township county and state having been a bonafide resident in said state
of Indiana for more than one year last past and a bona fide resident of said
city of Muncie, Indiana for more than one year last past, having resided the
past 27 years in said city of Muncie and now resides at number 818 South Grant
Street, in said city, and being a moral man not in the habit of becoming
intoxicated, a fit person to be entrusted with the sale of Intoxicating liquors
at retain and not having been convicted of a felony or violation of the liquor
laws at any time, and being desirous of obtaining a license to sell
intoxication liquors at retail, pursuant to an act of the general assembly of
the state of Indiana, approved March 4, 1911, concerning intoxicating liquors,
will make application to the board of commissioners of the county of Delaware
in the state of Indiana at their regular April session for the year 1916,
commencing on Monday 3rd day of April 1916 for a license to sell all
kinds of intoxicating liquors, towit: spirituous, vinous and malt liquors, for
a period of one year in quantities less than 5 gallons at a time to be drunk
upon and in the premises where sold, together with the privilege of selling
soft and non-intoxicating liquors and cigars and tobaccos, upon and in said
premises in connection with and as a part of said business. Said premises upon
and in which I desire to obtain a license to retail said intoxicating liquors,
and other beverages and conduct said business in the manner aforesaid are
particularly described as follows, towit: The ground floor room in the one and
one-half story frame building situated on the northeast corner of the
intersection of South Grant Street and East Second Street in the city of
Muncie, Indiana the said room and building now located on lot numbered 27 in
the Hartley-Lowenstein addition to the city of Muncie, Delaware County,
Indiana. Said building being located on the southwest corner of said lot. Said room is the only ground floor room in
said building is 29’ and 6” in length east and west and 17’ and 2” in width
north and south, throughout its entire length except in the southeast corner
thereof where a space of 2’ wide east and west and 12 ½’ long north and south
from floor to ceiling is occupied by a stairway leading from said room to the
attic which is used for storage and the ceiling of said room is 10’ above the
floor thereof. Said room has one double glass door 5’ wide and 7’6” high and
two large glass windows each of which is 8’ high and 4’8” wide, one on either
side of said double glass door in the front or west end thereof which makes all
the interior of said room visible from south Grant street upon which said room
and building fronts. One door in the south side thereof leading into 2nd
street; one door in the northside thereof leading into the yard north of said
room and one small window in the southside of said room and one small window in
the east end thereof; said room being the only ground floor room in said
building and the only room in said building except said attic and front on and
abuts south Grant a public street and highway in said city and is numbered 824
thereon and the south side of said room and building abuts East 2nd
street a public street and highway. Dated at Muncie, Indiana this 13th
